The Issue of Ignorance And How We Overcome

After being spurred to thought by Shawn Holster's piece in the The Spitcracker Picayune regarding the "You didn't build that." comment made by Barack Obama, it dawned on me where America finds itself, and how it got there.

We got here through lack of education and personal responsibility. We will be forever under this tyrannical Progressive movement due to the electorate not being intelligent enough to see the truth. Our schools have dumbed down our kids to the point that they only look for what they can get, not what they can provide. The leeches on welfare have been given to for so long that they expect to take, not to create. Therein lies the problem.

It's all about what the country can do for me, not what I can do for the country. How far we have fallen. Kennedy got it, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." The problem today is that this is used to scold the creators for not giving of their means to help those who take. A really sad state of affairs for a country that is supposed to be free. We are evermore enchained by a monolithic Federal Government bent on leaving the Constitution behind as fast as it can, and being enabled by taker minions who are, in turn, enabled by the Federal Government.

So, we end up with takers believing that the Federal Government is the origin of all that takes place in this country, from the top down. We end up with the majority of American voters believing that, "You didn't build that!" Believing that, without the Federal Government, we can do nothing. The takers truly believe that creators didn't build what they created through sweat of their own brow. They don't believe that people creating and performing work provide taxes to enable the Federal Government to perform it's just responsibilities.

All of these beliefs are in direct contradiction of the U.S. Constitution. It is now believed that the Constitution doesn't limit the Federal Government, but gives it carte blanche to tax and spend. One only need read the last few paragraphs of Federalist #41 to understand that the Constitution was to prevent that exact application.

But, we return to the initial premise of this piece, the people are too ignorant to see the problem. Now, the ignorant voters are the majority, giving the Federal Government the platform it needs to continue to bury us under these progressive ideas. Given that fact, it can no longer be fixed by Election. So, we are stuck in this situation in which we find ourselves.

The question now becomes, 'How do we get out from under this?'

We can't wait four more years, much less two more for the mid-term elections. All it takes is just a few pen-strokes and we start loosing the rights that are enshrined in the Bill of Rights. Once that happens, it's over.

Plus, what do we think we're going to gain from elections, given the aforementioned majority electorate? We lost the Presidency, more seats in the Senate, and seats in the House. The majority of voters being ignorant now insures that this trend will continue.

Given all this, we now change the question from 'How do we get out from under this?', to, 'How and when do we get out from under this?' We still have choices, and we still have a little time.

But, time is ticking America, and we don't have much left.

  1. I plussed this on the premise that you're correct except on the numbers. Calculations on how many supported Obama keep leaving out those whose votes were suppressed deliberately by both the media and Obama's campaign.
Then you have the approximate 1/3 of the voting age population that doesn't bother to vote because the media has been so busy over the last generation firmly telling them that it doesn't do them any good to support candidates who agree with them because those candidates are outside the mainstream. Their votes won't make a difference.
Those people should count, too. So, half the US voting population doesn't want Obama's hand outs and aren't convinced that what government can do for them should be their first consideration. In spite of the media's constant drum beat for a whole generation. Think about it.

    1. I would agree, Marla, but, in my mind, those who don't vote are just as culpable as those who vote for the nanny state. No matter how we cut it, the tipping point has been reached. Complacency has set in for a slice of the Republican voters.

As for the "fraudulent" voting, nothing will be done due to the fact that both the Democrat and Republican members of our Federal Government are complicit.
