Who Are You Trying To Kid?

I just listened to John Kerry, testifying before the Senate, say in response to a question from Senator Rand Paul that what they are proposing in Syria was not war.

Okay, let me preface this with the background that I am not an isolationist. I do not feel that the United States can stick its head in the sand and ignore what is going on with the rest of the world.

However, I do not feel that we have any business attacking every little tin-pot dictator that decides to do harm to his own country. My feelings on that are, the oppressed are oppressed only because they choose to be so.

All that said, I want to get to the meat of the matter.

Mr. Kerry, you say that you, nor any of those who have served in our military forces now serving in Congress, want to get involved in a war. You then play word games in front of the Senate by telling us that this is not a war.

Mr. Kerry, In what insane world is striking another country not war? If Canada, or Mexico, or Cuba, or China were to start lobbing a few missiles onto United States soil, would we sit idly by and let them? By your logic, President Roosevelt was a fool when he said that a state of war had existed between the United States and Japan since Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.

Mr. Kerry, down here in the south we have a saying, "that dog won't hunt." You can blow smoke up the rear of gullible sheep, and lap dogs, but it's not going to work here.

We will not sit idly by while you, no different or better a person than the rest of us, take this country headlong into another conflict that will take the lives of our brothers and sisters. It's over. We're not listening to the lies of so-called statesmen any longer.
